  • What is a water jetter?
Drain lines can become clogged with grease or other substances, such as sand or sludge. Water jetting is an efficient and economical way to clean drain and sewer pipes. Water jetters use water pressure to clean out drain and sewer lines.
  • How often should I have my sewer lines jetted?
Jetting equipment cleans sewer lines more thoroughly than snakes. This equipment uses water pressure to cut through grease and other debris that builds up in drain pipes. The jetting equipment then draws this debris back where it can be vacuumed out, which provides a more in-depth cleaning. As a good preventative measure, you should have your sewer lines cleaned every 18-22 months.
  • What can I do to prevent a sump pump failure?
Planning and maintenance are the key to preventing a sump pump failure. The most common cause of failure is due to a power outage, so it is a good idea to have a backup generator in your home. A less costly option is to purchase a sump pump battery backup, which alerts you when your sump pump stops working. You should still regularly test your sump pump to make sure it is working correctly.
  • What causes low water pressure?
Low water pressure is an issue that many homeowners face. There are many causes that could be impacting your home’s water pressure, such as a malfunctioning shut off valve, clogged pipe, crimped water line, or water meter allocation issues. It’s important to contact Komar Anchor Plumbing to accurately diagnose the cause.

The best way to unclog your toilet is a plunger, but if you don’t have one handy, fill the toilet with dish soap or laundry detergent. Then add a pot of boiling water and then wait a few minutes before flushing. The hot water should break through the clog as the soap washes everything through and out of the toilet drain.

  • What should I do if my toilet overflows?
If your toilet is overflowing, it has likely been caused by a leak in your tank’s fill valve or deterioration of the shaft or wire that sets the fill level. Be sure to call Komar Anchor as soon as it happens so we can get the problem fixed quickly!
